Op het proces over de dood van George Floyd in Minneapolis, in de VS, is de voormalige agent Derek Chauvin schuldig bevonden aan alle aanklachten.
Op de zwaarste aanklacht van "moord in de tweede graad" staat een maximumstraf van 40 jaar cel.
George Floyd stierf in mei vorig jaar tijdens een hardhandige arrestatie, waarbij Chauvin bijna 9 minuten lang zijn knie op de nek van Floyd hield.
Diens dood leidde in de VS maar ook wereldwijd tot protesten tegen racisme en politiegeweld. (VRTNWS)
